Visit the holy sites in Makkah
Makkah, the holiest city in Islam, is home to numerous sacred sites that hold immense spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. During your Umrah or Hajj journey, visiting these holy places is an essential part of your spiritual experience.
The Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the world and surrounds the Kaaba. It is the focal point of all prayers for Muslims worldwide. The mosque has been expanded multiple times to accommodate millions of pilgrims.
The Kaaba is the most sacred site in Islam. Muslims face the Kaaba during their daily prayers (Salah). It is a cuboid-shaped building located at the center of the Grand Mosque. The Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) is embedded in the eastern corner of the Kaaba.
Located near the Kaaba, this is the stone on which Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام) stood while building the Kaaba. It contains the footprints of Prophet Ibrahim and is a place of prayer and reflection.
These two hills are located within the Grand Mosque. Pilgrims perform Sa'i (walking/running) between these two hills, commemorating Hajar's (Hagar's) search for water for her son Ismail. This is an essential part of both Umrah and Hajj.
The Zamzam Well is located within the Grand Mosque, near the Kaaba. It is believed to be a miraculously generated source of water that sprang up when Hajar was searching for water. Drinking Zamzam water is considered highly blessed.
This mountain is home to the Cave of Hira, where Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) received his first revelation from Allah through the Angel Jibril (Gabriel). It is a significant historical and spiritual site.
This mountain contains the Cave of Thawr, where Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه) took refuge during their migration (Hijrah) from Makkah to Madinah.
Located about 5 kilometers from Makkah, Mina is where pilgrims stay during Hajj and perform the ritual of stoning the Jamarat (stone pillars representing Satan).
This is an open area between Mina and Arafat where pilgrims gather stones for the stoning ritual and spend the night during Hajj.
Also known as Jabal al-Rahmah (Mountain of Mercy), this is where Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) delivered his farewell sermon. Standing at Arafat is the most important ritual of Hajj.
